Fundraising

As I am going through the journey of learning how to become an entrepreneur, I am constantly learning and growing.  It seems very intimidating to go out and ask for money from people.  Whether it be a bank, a person we know, or someone else, it just seems to be something to be scared about.  As I watched the video entitled, "Energetic Fundraising," He went through how not to do it and how to do it.  Its all about the person, not the money.  You need to connect with the person and help them see the value of you before they will consider your business venture.  They are essentially investing in you and your vision, not necessarily your company.  I found that to be very interesting, but it makes sense.  Most business ventures are very risky as most business go out of business in the first 5 years.  So to put money on a business, you want to trust that person will treat the money with wise intentions and be frugal with it.  That way it will be easier for them to get their money back.  I know that I a have a personable personality.  (Try saying that ten times fast.)  So using that skill will help me find the funding needed in the future as long as I can show that I have fully research the business and know what I am getting into.  It does not seem quite so daunting.
My $100 project is coming along nicely.  I have sold about half of the cups that I wanted to sell.  So I am past my breakeven point for the total amount of cups that I wanted to sell.  Now that I have two venues to sell them at, I am hoping that I will be able to finish my goal in a timely manner.  The one venue ends as of October 31, as that is the last day that they are open for the year.  If I am unable to make my goal there, I still have the second venue that I can fall back on.  It is a regular business so I can sell up to the end of the semester in order to make my goal.
