E-Myth
I have enjoyed reading the book titled, E-Myth Revisited. It put a story behind all the facts that he was sharing. I am a visual learner. Once I see how something is done once, I can usually duplicate it. I could visualize what he was saying through the stories that he told. The part that has really stuck with me is the story about the motel stay. How they figured out what he wanted and accomplished it for him without him even knowing it. I am looking at opening a business in the service industry so this really stuck out to me. Men do not go out looking to be pampered as a general rule. They do know what they want and go for it. So to have a hotel that is getting his room ready with a night cap and his favorite coffee in the morning, made him want to come back. They listened to his wants and made it happen. They continue to do it every time he visits. I think that the biggest takeaway, is keeping the customer happy just like the first experience they had that brought them back. I am trying to write out my own expectations with this service and visually picturing it as a living breathing entity. It's pretty exciting.
I was able to get my final check from the pumpkin patch this week for the $100 project. It is fun getting all the figures put in and seeing what the final numbers are. I have misplaced one receipt, so I am currently looking for it before I can give final numbers. From what I can remember, I am right about $100 profit. It was fun and I learned a lot about what people are looking for.
