Business Plan / Life Plan
As I was reading through all the stuff needed in order to create a business plan, I was reflecting about life. If we took as much time trying to figure out where we wanted to go in life, would life be different? We would need to create graphs on why we wanted to do certain things, or buy certain things. We would use accounting to figure out what our bank accounts would look like in years to come. We would put down all the things that need to happen to get from point A to point B. That's a lot of work to put into what we want out of life.
Then I came to the realization that very few people go to all that trouble. Then the next question is why? Well, the saying, "Life Happens" comes to mind. We will have all these grand ideas about where we want our life to go and then, "Life Happens". We do not know from one minute to the next what is going to happen to us. We do know that we have a general direction in which we want to go. We set the course and start.
Then I went back to thinking about business, is that not exactly the same thing that happens in business, "Life Happens?" Yes, yes it does. So all those grand ideas that are put into a business plan are hopes that "Life" does not "Happen" to them. So we need to put the best we can do with the best hoped for plans and see what life is going to do along the way.
As far as the $100 challenge, I am selling my cups at the farm. The weather has not been all that great and that translates into lower sales. We are looking forward to great weather for the upcoming 10 days. As long as it holds, then I think that I will not only make my $100, but a few more dollars as well.
